
A minor dispute at the Ghamroj toll plaza near Sohna escalated into a violent clash on Tuesday morning. Over 10 youths vandalised the toll office and assaulted employees.
Six employees of the plaza were injured. An FIR was registered against the attackers at the Bhondsi police station.
The injured toll workers were initially taken to Sohna Civil Hospital. After receiving first aid, they were all referred to Gurugram. CCTV cameras installed at the toll plaza captured the entire incident.
According to the police, the incident took place on Tuesday morning at around 11 am when a young man from Sohna was traveling to Gurugram by car. When he stopped at the Ghamroj toll plaza to obtain a monthly toll pass, a parking dispute arose with the security guard standing there.
Soon after, the young man allegedly informed his relatives and angry people then attacked the toll plaza. Half a dozen toll workers were seriously injured in the clash.
The attackers also vandalized the toll office. The accused are clearly seen in the footage carrying sticks and vandalizing the toll office while thrashing the toll workers.
“Following the complaint of the injured toll worker, an FIR has been registered under relevant sections against the unknown accused. We are investigating the matter and trying to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage. The accused will be arrested soon,” said Inspector Surender Singh, SHO of Bhondsi police station.
