A minor dispute at the Ghamroj toll plaza near Sohna escalated into violence on Tuesday morning when more than 10 youths vandalised the toll office and assaulted employees. Six toll workers were injured in the attack. The police registered an FIR against the accused at Bhondsi police station.

The injured workers were first taken to Sohna Civil Hospital and later referred to Gurugram after receiving first aid. CCTV cameras installed at the toll plaza captured the incident.

According to the police, the incident took place around 11 am when a man from Sohna was travelling to Gurugram by car. A dispute reportedly broke out with a security guard over parking while he was trying to obtain a monthly toll pass.

The police said the man later informed his relatives, following which a group attacked the toll plaza. Half a dozen toll workers suffered serious injuries in the clash, while the attackers also vandalised the toll office.

CCTV footage reportedly shows the accused carrying sticks, damaging the office and assaulting toll workers.

“Following the complaint of an injured toll worker, an FIR has been registered under relevant sections against unknown accused. We are investigating the matter and trying to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage. The accused will be arrested soon,” said Inspector Surender Singh, SHO of Bhondsi police station.
