
SIPITANG: Some 60 participants, comprising youths from the district and Beaufort, completed the Jiwa Alam COBT Expedition at Langkimut Hill Garden, Bukit Tempurung, Kampung Sungai Bubus, Ulu Sipitang, recently.
The expedition was organised by the Sabah Youth Council (Majlis Belia Sabah – MBS) in collaboration with the Interior Lower Region Youth Association Alliance (Gabungan Persatuan Belia Pedalaman Bawah – GPBPB). It was led by MBS Vice President and Programme Coordinator Siti Sobrinah Tassim.
According to Sobrinah, the youngest participant was just 11, while the oldest was 53. They were accompanied by five experienced guides throughout the expedition.

She also noted that the activity not only tested participants’ physical endurance but also aimed to foster unity among youths through a journey that brings them closer to the beauty of nature.
One of the participants, Effendy Allyssndro, said the climb was challenging, but the natural scenery provided a sense of peace and calm.
The hike began at 7am and concluded at 2pm. Sobrinah said the event was carried out without any major injuries reported.
