TAWAU: About 60 stilt houses were destroyed, and three individuals suffered breathing difficulties in a fire at Kampung Sri Aman, Batu 3 Jalan Apas, here on Sunday.
Firefighters faced challenges in extinguishing the blaze, with some forced to wade through sea mud after bridges connecting the houses were damaged.
AdvertisementDistrict Fire and Rescue Station chief Jemishin Ujin confirmed that all affected victims received initial treatment from the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team.
He said the emergency call was received at 7.46am, and the fire was contained at 9.20am, preventing further spread.
