
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah are represented by 65 shuttlers in the Affin-100Plus Junior Elite Badminton Tournament (first leg) currently being held at the Putrajaya Community Hall.
The five-day tournament open to the Under-12, 15 and 17 age groups which started on Wednesday saw Sabah drawn in Group B with Putrajaya, Negeri Sembilan and Kedah.
Sabah did well last year by finishing second in the first leg held in Perlis and emerged as champions in the second leg in Kedah.
Sabah Badminton Association President Janih Bangud said the large number of players in the team is part of their efforts to produce new talents.
He hopes the team will deliver again and also expressed his gratitude to AST Sport Centre for their support.
