Over the Christmas season, PAS had condemned Nga Kor Ming for allegedly involving Muslim staff in his ministry’s Christmas celebrations, causing Nga to bite back by saying PAS needed to repent for causing racial disharmony. PAS then said they’d sue the Minister of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).

Now, Pemuda PAS Malaysia has taken to their Facebook page to announce that they, along with unnamed NGOs and other associations, have filed 69 police reports against Nga Kor Ming over his statements about PAS’ criticism of his ministry’s Christmas celebration.

They wrote, “Pemuda PAS, together with NGOs and other associations, have filed police reports against YB Nga Kor Ming, following an open Christmas celebration organised at the KPKT premises, which involved Muslim staff in the ‘Christmas carolling’ activity.”

“To date, a total of 69 police reports have been filed by NGOs and organisations in Malaysia. This (Christmas celebration) action has violated the guidelines of the National Fatwa Consultation 2005 and the Irsyad ruling of the Federal Territories Mufti Office (Series 818).”

Nga’s ministry accused of violating Irsyad rulings

They also shared examples from the Irsyad ruling that were broken by KPKT’s Christmas celebration. Here are those examples:

  1. Involving symbols and elements that contradict Islamic beliefs such as symbols of other religions and religious songs.
  2. Taking place at a government premises, involving Muslim staff.
  3. Causing unrest among Muslims and affecting national harmony.

“Pemuda PAS urges PDRM to investigate under Section 298(A) of the Penal Code and ensure that government premises are no longer misused for events that violate religious sensitivities,”

“Islam must be respected as the official religion of the federation for the sake of national harmony,” they added.
