SHAH ALAM, Dec 17 — Nearly 7,000 Selangor residents have benefited from free health screenings, with 38 per cent of participants aged between 46 and 64, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari revealed today.

In a Facebook post, Amirudin noted that the state government has conducted free dental screenings for 3,867 people as of October 31, with plans to continue the programme with a RM2 million allocation in the 2025 Selangor State Budget.

“We are implementing a special health screening programme for senior citizens to expand access to preventive healthcare,” he said.

“We hope more residents will participate in these free screenings.”

Introduced in 2022, the Selangor Saring free health screening programme targets people with obesity, unhealthy lifestyles, and families with hereditary diseases to help detect diseases early.

Amirudin expressed confidence the initiative would have long-term positive impacts on the state’s public health, encouraging continued community participation.
