Kota Kinabalu: Seven tourism players from Sabah were among 40 named ‘Mita Tourism Heroes 2023’ at the Malaysian Inbound Tourism Association annual dinner in Kuala Lumpur, Tuesday, according to Sophia Sie, Director of Mataking Reef Resort, Semporna, who was among the seven ‘heroes’ so named.The other six were Datuk Robert Lo, CEO of Sipadan-Mabul Resort (Sabah) Sdn Bhd, Julie Wong, Managing Director of WB Shun Shun, Crystal Soon, Managing Director of Crystal Resort (C Future Star) Sdn Bhd, Connie Chong, CEO of Funholiday Tours & Travel Sdn Bhd, Masliza Mansor, Director of Global Lepa Car & Tours Sdn Bhd and Sabah Tourism Board. Among the prominent individuals named include Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, Federal Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture and also Dato Dr. Ammar Abd Ghapar, the new Director of Tourism Malaysia.
