Around 72.17 per cent polling was recorded in 83 gram panchayats of Hamirpur district in the first phase of the elections to panchayati raj institutions on Tuesday, said Deputy Commissioner Gandharva Rathore. She added that in 21 panchayats of Nadaun development block, 73.22 per cent voters exercised their right to franchise, 17 panchayats of Bijhri block (72.08 per cent), nine panchayats of Bamsan block (72.28 per cent), 15 panchayats of Bhoranj development block (70.87 per cent), 13 panchayats of Hamirpur development block (72.22 per cent) and in eight panchayats of Sujanpur development block (72.36 per cent). The Deputy Commissioner said that the election process was concluded in a peaceful manner and the results would be declared on Tuesday itself.
