
Around 74.94 per cent voter turnout was recorded in 82 gram panchayats during the second phase of the panchayati raj elections held in Hamirpur on Thursday. Deputy Commissioner Gandharva Rathore said that of the total 125,768 voters, 94,245, including 51,423 women, cast their vote. The voter turnout was 76.35 per cent in Nadaun block, 72.55 per cent in Bijhri block, 74.98 per cent in Bamsan block, 75.06 per cent in Bhoranj block, 76.94 per cent in 1Hamirpur block and 73.49 per cent in Sujanpur block.
In Bilaspur district, a voter turnout of 78.95 per cent was recorded. Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar said that the highest polling of 82.74 per cent was recorded in Shri Naina Devi Ji block while the lowest voting of 76.40 per cent was registered in Ghumarwin block. He added that 82.36 per cent voting was recorded in Sadar Bilaspur block, 76.40 per cent in Ghumarwin block, 82.74 per cent in Shri Naina Devi Ji block and 77.24 per cent in Jhanduta block.
