Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart says the board should heed the words of Lionel Messi.
Messi has stated this week some frustration seeing Barca fail to re-sign Neymar from PSG.
Gaspert told El Larguero: "The end of season clause was also used by players like (Andres) Iniesta and Xavi at the time, it is not something new. That Messi has it is part of the philosophy of Bara.
"I do not think Messi's words mean a pulse to the board or Bartomeu. I know Leo very well and it is not his style. After every statement of Messi there is a 'but', and as much as the club spokesman understands them as irrelevant I think they are warnings to the board that he doesn't like how the club is doing.
"Of course Messi can propose signings, just like a former president, I called (Josep Maria) Bartomeu to tell him that if he could sign Neymar, sign him."
