Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke with Christian Eriksen during the final days of the transfer window.

Spurs were keen for United to bid for the 27-year-old since he stressed a desire to leave heading into the final year of his contract.

Solskjaer called Eriksen to gauge his interest in joining United, according to the Manchester Evening News.

But while Eriksen expressed admiration for the club, he informed Solskjaer that he preferred a move to Spain.

Spurs will likely lose Eriksen for nothing at the end of the season.
