Brighton boss Graham Potter admits he had not heard of Aaron Connolly when he took charge in the summer.
Connolly scored twice in victory over Tottenham.
"You have to remember he is only 19, so there will be times when he acts mature and there will be times where he is his age," said Potter.
"That is normal. But he is a good lad.
"From day one he has shown his quality. He wants to run in behind and he wants to threaten the goal. Those are two good qualities to have."
