Have you heard about the salt fish Bee Hoon? Well, this recipe is very simple and delicious to eat. This bee hoon is very popular in Penang. Once you eat it, you will want to cook it again.
You need to buy salt fish which is boneless for this recipe. Remember to wash it first before you fry it. This recipe serves 3 people.

Ingredients
- 40 grams boneless salt fish (cut into ½ cm cubes and fry it)
- 200 grams Bee Hoon (vermicelli) – soak in cold water for 2 hours until it becomes soft
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 9 medium prawns (deveined and shelled)
- 12 slices of fish cake (slice them into ½ cm slices)
- 1 cup bean sprouts (125 grams)
- ½ teaspoon white pepper
- 3 eggs & 1 teaspoon light soya sauce (mix)
- ½ cup sliced cabbage
- 2 tablespoon carrot juliennes
- 2 tablespoons chopped spring onions
- 2 tablespoon light soy sauces
- 1 teaspoon sesame seed oil
- ⅓ chicken cube
- 3 ½ tablespoon oil for frying the noodles
- ½ cup oil for frying the salt fish
Method
- Cut the salt fish into ½ cm cubes, wash them, dry them and then fry them on low heat.
- Start with taking a wok and heating it on high flame. Add 3 tablespoons of oil. Now add garlic and saute it for 30 seconds.
- Add prawns and fish cake and chicken cube and stir fry for another 30 seconds.
- Put in the cabbage and carrots. Stir fry for 1 minute.
- Add bee hoon, light soya sauce and white pepper and stir fry for 1 minute.
- Now add bean sprouts and stir fry for another 2 minutes.
- Push the bee hoon aside in the work and add ½ tablespoon of oil. Now add 3 eggs, add 1 teaspoon of light soya sauce and scramble it for 10 seconds.
- Place the bee hoon on top of the eggs and begin to stir fry for 1 more minute.
- Lastly, add spring onions and mix them evenly. Done! When serving your bee hoon, top up with some salt fish.
