8 Minutes to Fluffy & Delicious Japanese Pancakes

Pancakes are just not a favourite breakfast for children and teenagers, they are also popular among adults and the elderly. Pancakes are easy to prepare. All you need is 7 to 8 ingredients.

Today I’ll be sharing with you a Japanese Pancake recipe which is quick, fast & easy to prepare. Let’s start now.

Ingredients A

  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 20 grams full cream milk
  • 10 grams oil
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 30 grams of all-purpose flour

Ingredients B

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar or lemon juice
  • 40 grams castor sugar (put a bit by bit until it goes stiff peak)

Method

  1. Let us start with ingredients A. Take a bowl and put 2 large eggs, milk and oil and vanilla essence. Mix well and add the flour. Leave aside.
  2. Now let us start with ingredients B. Take another bowl and add 3 egg whites and lemon juice. Use an electric beater and start beating. Do add castor sugar bit by bit until you get a stiff peak consistency.
  3. Take 1 ladle of B and put this mixture in A. Mix well. Then put all of the B into the A. Mix well again.
  4. This mixing should be done by hand.
  5. Take a frying pan, preferably 7 to 8 inches. Rub some butter with a kitchen towel. This pan should be on low heat.
  6. Now take a piping bag and put the batter into it. Press the batter for 5 seconds, then move round and round until you get a 2-inch height.
  7. Make another pancake by the side. Put 1 teaspoon of water by the side of the pan and cover.
  8. After 1 to 1.5 minutes, flip over the pancake and cook on the other side as well. Do not forget to add 1 teaspoon of water again and cover the pancake. Done. Your Fluffy & Delicious Japanese Pancake is ready! Enjoy.

Final thoughts

  1. This pancake is higher in height compared to normal pancakes.
  2. You may serve these pancakes with honey, maple syrup, assorted jams and with fruit compotes like strawberry, blackberry, blueberry, etc.
  3. This recipe above serves 4 pancakes approximately.
