An 86-year-old man in Guangdong, China, recently married his late son’s girlfriend just one month after his demise, but the senior citizen’s daughter was not happy with the marriage.

The daughter, Miss Qin, believed that her late brother’s girlfriend Wang wanted to seize family assets.

In protest, Miss Qin smashed the house gate with a hammer

Qin said she used to take care of her father and always cooked for him, but she stopped after clashing with Wang.

Her brother introduced Wang to the family in early 2024 and in February 2025, the 53-year-old man passed away due to liver disease. In less than a month, the senior citizen, Uncle Biao married Wang.

After Qin stopped taking care of her father, she had once proposed placing her father in a nursing home, which Wang and the senior citizen himself opposed the idea. Wang, on the other hand, hit back with claims that Qin wanted to rent out the ancestral home and a 100m² iron shed and allegedly persuaded her late brother to do so.

Both properties are still legally under the name of Uncle Biao’s late wife.

Wang claims that she just wants to care for Uncle Biao

According to the inheritance law, Uncle Biao and his children each own 1/3 of the shares. Miss Qin insisted that “the property certificate has not been changed” and believed that as long as it was not transferred to her father’s name, Wang will not be able to gain the properties.

Wang, however, took out a certificate from the village committee, pointing out that the homestead house belonged to the village collective and could not be inherited by outsiders.

She believed that Miss Qin was making trouble because she was afraid that after her father died, she would have to spit out the 1/3 property share that belonged to her father.

Wang also said that she married Uncle Biao because she wanted to care for him and prevent him from being sent to the nursing home. Uncle Biao revealed that the assets will belong to the person who cares for him.

10 mediations by the village committee members later, the conflicts between both parties have NOT been resolved, based on a video posted on Weibo.
