LSA travels to New York Fashion Week for Coach Fall 2025, discovering a fun and playful collection with coveted novelties and new ways for self-expression.
The fashion world once again bows to Stuart Vevers’ expertise in catapulting Coach to a constant rise — in popularity, in perception, in appeal. Among the Gen-Z, the brand ranks on top. Vevers knows his way around; he brings a fresh perspective to individuality and the spirit of self expression. Shoe charms, bag charms and a screwdriver for an earpiece — how cute!
This season, he goes beyond charming the Gen-Zers — the appeal has somewhat trickled to the generations that came before. And for those like me, the interest has since bubbled a few notches more. Coach has become more coveted than ever.
“My vision for Fall was to ground the collection in all the things that make Coach so distinct as a fashion house: our heritage materials and palette, our commitment to repurposing and ‘re-loving’ secondhand garments through craft, and our belief in the power of community and self-expression,” quotes Vevers. “There’s a clear, cohesive idea here in terms of materials, silhouette and styling, and that comes from knowing who we are and what we stand for.”
Vevers opens the show with a bewitching live performance by Brooklyn-based indie pop band Nation of Language featuring their original song, ‘A World and A Wave’. The brick-clad surround in the historic Drill Hall at Park Avenue Armory echoes the collection’s infectious energy as models exude a too-cool-for-school attitude, styled in acid-tone sunglasses, charms, accessories and an overarching love-worn appeal.
The pieces are quintessential Coach: rich tan and quasi faded black, with splashes of melange jersey, light-wash denim, and pops of novelty in leopard print, metallic knits and beading. The cuts, colours and creative bent offer a youthful approach defined by cropped bomber jackets and duffle coats, as well as blazers and vests in unique cuts. There’s much to love about the collection that’s set to hit the stores in the next half of the year.
Let’s start with the long floor-dusting coats in leather and shearling that offer the right amount of flair and versatility to your fall rack. Matching suits paired with preppy knitwear bring a cute all-American look to classic tailoring. There’s also a touch of 1920s featuring inspired day dresses and gowns that offer you new ways to up your styling game.
Look out for the ‘kitschy-kitschy ya-ya-da-da’, a sense of humour that Vevers carefully slips into the collection. We are talking about the micro-pouches hanging on the neck and a playful toolbox-inspired jewellery in the shape of screwdrivers and wingnuts, on top of small shearling stuffed animals and a selection of charms. This season, the ultimate piece de resistance seems to be the stuffed animal slippers – particularly the bunny slippers — that kinda stomp the Internet and have gotten everyone talking.
Also making its runway debut is the Twin Pocket Bag, inspired by an archival piece from 1968. Coach Fall 2025 also marks the return of the Brooklyn and Empire bags, in playful iterations and more compact proportions. What’s more interesting? – All three bags are rendered in vegetable tanned leather, in a new house treatment called Loved Leather, as well as in shearling with some featuring hand-painted graffiti finish. There’s also the archive-inspired Bleecker Bucket Bag in various colours, as well as the Times Square Tabby made with elements of beaded vintage satin for a swathe of shine.
We also particularly love the return of the Soho Sneaker for two seasons in a row – curated in new finishes like the Loved Leather, silver suede and leopard print. Look out for new charms like poms-poms, jewelled bows, and even a stuffed elephant! Together with the pieces in the upcoming collection – from outerwear to dresses, accessories to new bags – these allow endless styling and layering possibilities — especially among the informed and discerning consumers.
