THE Immigration Department repatriated 94 illegal immigrants via sea and air.

Its Director Datuk Sh Sitti Saleha Habib Yusoff said 17 Vietnamese men, including a child, were repatriated via Sandakan Airport to Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA 2) on Thursday.

Meanwhile, 77 Indonesian citizens, including six women, were sent home via Tawau Port (pic) to Tunon Taka Terminal, Nunukan, Indonesia on Friday (series 17).

“This time there were no children and all were from the Tawau Immigration Depot. The process of transferring detainees with an escort were up until the Malindo Express 2 ship,” she said in a statement.

She said those detained committed various offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Immigration Regulations 1963.

She said the department is committed to the repatriation programme carried out in collaboration with the Consulate General of Indonesia.

She reminded foreigners to have valid travel documents and a valid work permit in this State before entering the country.

She stressed enforcement agencies in Sabah would always take strict action against those who do not comply with the country’s laws.
