SANDAKAN: A total of 94 newly-recruited Auxiliary Fire Officers (PBB) who have completed their recent interviews will be stationed at all fire and rescue stations across the State.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Director Jainal @ Zainal Madasin said this includes the Sandakan Fire Station, which currently has no PBB personnel, as well as rural areas in need of additional support.
He said these auxiliary officers will assist in various duties once deployed.
Zainal said this during a media engagement at the Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station on Sunday as part of his official working visit and breaking of fast ceremony.
Present were Zone 6 Chief Jasri Abd Jal, Sandakan Fire and Rescue Station Chief Severinus Sainkui, Kinabatangan Fire and Rescue Station Chief Nurul Azlan Shah Jamalludin and Beluran Fire and Rescue Station Chief Edoen Macheal.
During the event, Zainal and Jasri also presided over a rank-pinning ceremony for several firefighters.
Additionally, Zainal assured that there are no issues regarding shortages of assets such as vehicles, which could hinder flood rescue operations and other emergency responses.
He said nearby stations, including Kinabatangan and Beluran, remain on standby to provide mutual assistance whenever needed.
