Napoli great Diego Maradona has left Gimnasia La Plata as coach.
The 59-year-old was only appointed in September and had improved their fortunes, winning three of his last five games in charge.
But it was also reported Maradona would quit Gimnasia if president Gabriel Pellegrino did not stand for re-election - which is now the case.
Maradona is no longer Gimnasia's coach," the outgoing patron told Fox Sports Argentina.
