Manchester City have received a boost in their pursuit of Olympique Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

Aouar is expected to be sold by OL this summer, with City, Juventus and PSG in contact. However, France Football says PSG have now dropped out of the race for the midfielder.

Instead, it's now likely to come to a straight shootout between City and Juve.

Last week, OL president Jean-Michel Aulas declared, "For the moment, we have not had any proposal or even request for information at all for him. I know that indeed there are many clubs are interested in him.

"In any case, the first option is to keep him and we will do everything for this.

"The second option, it will be he who will decide where he wishes to play. We have always had, with players who left in the past, the desire to favour the club where the players wanted to go. It will be the player who decides."
