Sassuolo sporting director Giovanni Carnevali admits they're in talks with Barcelona for Monchu.
The Barca B captain is set to leave this summer, with interest arriving from across the continent.
"He is a young boy, we are talking to Barça, it is something we already did last season," confirmed Carnevali.
"We have a good relationship (with Barça)."
He added: "He (Monchu) is a promising footballer.
"There is interest, but from there if we can close the operation there is a stretch."
