Liverpool chief exec Peter Moore has paid tribute to Premier League winning manager Jurgen Klopp.

Moore, speaking a day on from the ceremony, has given the German the ultimate compliment by comparing him to the club's legendary boss Bill Shankly.

He told talkSPORT: “Shankly came in 1959 and soon thereafter said: 'I was made for Liverpool and Liverpool was made for me'. I think Jurgen can probably say the same thing.

“He's a leader of men, charismatic, a brilliant tactician and coach, the players adore him, he has been absolutely superb not just on the pitch for the 90 minutes but seven days a week in leading this club.

“He has given the city and the global fanbase something to look forward to after a 30 years of being so close and nearly there and we didn't quite make it.

“Last night you could see it on his face, you could see what it means to him. Jurgen has been magnificent.

“And for those who don't have the pleasure of knowing him, let me tell you that what you see is what you get. There's no facade, this is a brilliant leader and somebody we cherish."
