Sacked Watford boss Nigel Pearson has released a short message on Twitter after his dismissal on Sunday.
Coaches Hayden Mullins and Graham Stack will take over for the rest of the campaign with officials frustrated by the Hornets' lack of form. Pearson revealed he has been "overwhelmed" by messages of support from fans since leaving Vicarage Road and wished the club well for the remaining matches.
He said: "I've been overwhelmed by the well-wishes I've received from Watford supporters and the football community.
"Thank you all for your kind messages. Although not able to finish the task I was brought in to achieve, I wish Watford all the best for their final two games.
"Cheers, Nige."
