Sokratis Papastathopoulos wants to stay with Arsenal next season.

The Telegraph says the defender has no intention of leaving the club in the upcoming transfer window, despite the Gunners being keen to offload him.

Sokratis has been heavily linked with a move away from north London this summer as Mikel Arteta plots a defensive overhaul.

Sokratis has been tipped with a move to German club Stuttgart this week.

The 32-year-old centre-back isn't believed to be a part of Arteta's long-term plans, and hasn't been included since the season resumed.

He has been left on the bench for all six of the Gunners' Premier League games since the restart, and made a last-minute cameo against Sheffield United in the FA Cup.
