Frank Lampard insists he didn't feel let down by Chelsea's defenders against West Ham United on Wednesday.

The Hammers claimed a 3-2 win over Lampard's side thanks to a late counter-attacking goal from Andriy Yarmolenko.

"No, not let down by them. We had mistakes by all which cost us the game," said Lampard after the game.

"I wouldn't call it a wake-up call because every game is different. It can happen. It's something we knew. We have to move on."

He added: "When a team is bigger than you as they were today, then you can work on it as much as you want but they can outjump you.

"The players have to deal with that on the pitch."
