Watford are in talks to sign off contract West Ham fullback Jeremy Ngakia.
The 19-year-old left West Ham last month after rejecting a new deal at London Stadium in favour of regular first-team football elsewhere.
The right-back is now set to head to Vicarage Road to join Watford, who will play in the Championship next season after their relegation from the Premier League.
The London Evening Standard says a deal is close to completion and if it goes through, Watford are required to pay a compensation fee to West Ham as part of FA rules on free transfers for players under the age of 24.
The deal has reportedly raised eyebrows at West Ham.
