Stuttgart sporting director Sven Mislintat claims Leeds United have a serious interest in Nicolas Gonzalez.
The Argentine has impressed in recent seasons.
The 22-year-old managed 14 goals last term, helping his team earn promotion to the Bundesliga.
However, Mislintat claims that a transfer for Gonzalez to Leeds is unlikely.
"I don't see [a departure] coming for now," said Mislintat to reporters.
"We had a lot of rumours in the beginning. It was very serious with Leeds. But at no point it was really convincing for him or for us."
Gonzalez does have three years left on his contract, so it would take a big offer from Leeds to get Stuttgart talking.
