Sporting CP are on the brink of securing Joelson Fernandes to a new deal.
The exciting 17 year-old attacker has been the subject of interest from Arsenal this month. However, O Jogo says Sporting are now close to convincing Joelson to putting pen to paper on a new deal.
The sticking point had been the buyout clause, with Sporting pushing to raise the current €45m option to €100m. But a compromise of €65m has now been settled.
Arsenal had been keen to ferry Joelson to England this summer, but Sporting insisted the teen would only leave for his clause - which was deemed too rich by Gunners management.
