Brighton have approached NAC Breda for young defender Jan Paul van Hecke.
The 20 year-old appeared on his way to AS Monaco this summer, though negotiations have now stalled.
Instead, reports Brabants Dagblad, Brighton have made a move for Van Hecke.
While they've just swooped for Ajax defender Joel Veltman, Brighton are now prepared to meet NAC's €2m asking price for Van Hecke.
Feyenoord are also keen, though not at NAC's valuation.
