Sabah China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) President Datuk Frankie Liew (pic) condemned Deputy Youth and Sports Minister cum Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Youth Chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal who called for the abolishment of vernacular schools in stages.

As a member of the ruling party and federal Cabinet, Liew said Wan Ahmad Fayhsal should implement policies that promoted national unity and harmony, instead of causing harm to other races in the country.

He said Article 152(1) of the Federal Constitution states that the national language shall be the Malay language, but Article 152(1)(a) stipulates that no person shall be prohibited or prevented from using (except for official purposes) or from teaching or learning any other language.
