Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho insists he'd be happy to work with Tanguy Ndombele this season.
The midfielder has been linked with a move away this summer.
But Mourinho says: "He works very hard. I have to be honest and say he's working better than ever. He finished the season with a serious injury. He came back after the holidays and was still injured, even though he tried to recover.
"He didn't start the pre-season with us. When you saw his first 45 minutes against Watford it was easy to understand that he is not in his best form. But he trained just two days before the game.
"This week he didn't go to national team camp and trained every day. His status is better today than it was a week ago. And he works very, very hard. So the point is now: can he keep this will and drive? If he does, he has incredible potential."
