St Etienne striker Denis Bouanga is unsure if Wesley Fofana is staying this season.
The defender retains hope of leaving for Leicester City this summer, though ASSE management are reluctant to sell.
Teammate Bouanga said: "We are in the Mercato period. Anyone can be made to leave.
"When there are requests, we try to put them aside when entering the field. Wesley knows what he's doing.
"He is in Saint-Etienne. He has a contract. But we don't know what the future holds."
