Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali admits Fulham are in talks to sign Marlon.
Fulham have offered €15m for the Brazilian defender.
Carnevali said, “We had an offer from Fulham, an important one, so we are evaluating it and the negotiations are in progress. We'll see over the next few days if we can conclude them.
“As for Ferrari, we never had any formal proposal from Torino. We only received a suggestion via his agent and it was nowhere near adequate for the value of the player.
“If a player is sold, it is only because there is a suitable offer to balance the books and he can be replaced adequately in the squad."
