Everton remain hopeful of sealing a move for Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez.
The Guardian says Carlo Ancelotti spoke personally with the Colombian last week about a move to Goodison Park.
Real want around £25m for the 29-year-old, who has one year remaining on his contract.
Rodriguez started only five league games last season and would be open to leaving the Bernabeu.
Meanwhile, the Toffees are close to signing Allan from Napoli after the Italian club's present, Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed a deal had been reached.
He told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli: "We are at the final farewell. Allan will go to Everton."
