PETALING JAYA: Former Chief Minister Musa Aman (pic) congratulated Hajiji Noor on his appointment as Chief Minister Tuesday, expressing confidence in the Sabah Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman’s ability to lead the state.Musa said Hajiji had the wisdom and experience to lead Sabah towards economic revival and greater development of the state. “I have known Hajiji for a long time, having served as a minister for many years during my tenure as Chief Minister,” he said in a statement.

“He had always given his full commitment and professionalism to his job back then. “While he is a compassionate individual, he is also a firm leader, able to make decisions without fear or favour.” Hajiji was sworn in as Sabah’s 16th Chief Minister this morning, succeeding Warisan president Shafie Apdal following the state election last Saturday.

Hajiji, 65, took his oath of office before Governor Juhar Mahiruddin at Istana Negeri. Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), made up of PN, BN and PBS, had won 38 seats to clinch a simple majority to form the state government. Out of the 38 seats, PN won 17 seats, followed by BN with 14 seats and PBS, seven. Warisan Plus won 32 seats, comprising 23 seats for Warisan, six by DAP, two by PKR and one by Upko.
