Upko nearly wiped out this time around

Kota Kinabalu: Upko which helped Warisan-Plus form the State Government in 2018, could not repeat the favour in the just-ended 16th State election.

It became the biggest casualty when the election results were known Saturday night when it won only one of the 12 seats it contested. The sole Upko winner was Datuk Ewon Benedick who retained his Kadamaian seat.

It was as if the voters punished the party for betraying Barisan Nasional of which it was a partner by teaming up with Warisan.
