Instead, reports Sky Deutschland, Zidane wants Jovic to spend a year away on-loan and a return to Eintracht Frankfurt is being discussed.
The 22 year-old joined Real last summer for €60m, but struggled for form and fitness in his first season in Spain.
A return to Frankfurt would suit all parties involved.
