Sampdoria are interested in Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
TMW says Elneny returned to the Arsenal first team for the Community Shield, but the Egyptian international could be the subject of a new transfer tug-of-war.
Elneny, who is under contract until 2022, spent last season on loan at Besiktas and had been linked with a return to the Turkish club.
Sampdoria are also interested in taking the midfielder on a season-long loan.
Sampdoria manager Claudio Ranieri has already turned to the Premier League once this summer, signing Maya Yoshida from Southampton following a loan spell, and Elneny could be the second player to move to the Serie A club after several years in England
