Tottenham have been rebuffed by Southampton after an inquiry regarding striker Danny Ings.

Spurs want to add another centre-forward to their squad, even if they secure Gareth Bale on loan from Real Madrid.

And the Daily Mail claims Southampton told them in no uncertain terms they are not interested in selling Ings.

The 28-year-old is someone Jose Mourinho loves, but he is too valuable for Southampton.

He netted 25 goals last term, 22 of them in the Premier League, and is their main attacking threat.

Ings is also a pressing forward, something Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl sees as invaluable.
