The agent of Edouard Mendy confirms Chelsea and Rennes are holding transfer talks at the moment.
The shot-stopper is wanted by Frank Lampard at the London club, and he wants to go to the Premier League.
But the Blues must agree a fee with Rennes, which could be roughly €22 million.
"The two parties have come to an agreement," the player's agent Djily Dieng told Senegalese newspaper Stades, via theDaily Star.
"All that's left is the formalisation. It could even be done tomorrow, if all goes well.
"Afterwards, the player himself will come to finalise everything, including having his medical examination."
