Man, 24, charged  with planting cannabis

Kota Kinabalu:

A 24-year-old man was charged with having and planting cannabis.

However, no plea was taken from Nicklen Jaccqres after the charge against him was read to him before Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus.

He is accused of having and planting the one cannabis tree at 2.40pm on Aug 19 this year at a room of a house in Kg Bahang, Jalan Hungab, Penampang.

The offence under Section 6B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and punishable under Section 6B(3) of the same Act which provides for a life imprisonment, and whipping at least six strokes of the cane, on conviction.

The court fixed Oct 6 for mention and Nicklen was ordered remanded further pending the date.

In the same court, a woman claimed trial to two counts of having for the sale of unregistered products and cosmetics without labels.

Nolmey @ Noriah Rajim, 38, made the plea after the charges were read to her.

On the first count, Nolmey allegedly had seven types of unregistered products at 3.20pm on Sept 11, 2019 at the Majid Mewah in Kota Marudu.

On the third count, she is accused of having two types of cosmetics without labels at the same place and time.

Her case management was fixed for Oct 6 and the court offered Nolmey bail at RM800 in a local surety.
