One hundred and thirty-one Indonesian illegal immigrants were deported by ferry from Tawau Port to Nunukan, Thursday.Sabah National Security Council (MKN) Director Sh Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof said it was the 25th series of deportations by sea, making it a total of 6,155 illegal immigrants deported from Sabah this year. Some 221 were deported to Pakistan, China, Vietnam, Hong Kong and South Korea by air. She said all the detainees underwent Covid-19 screening before deportation and strict hygiene was practised throughout the deportation process.
