Former Arsenal scout Francis Cagigao believes Mikel Arteta will succeed at the club.
Cagigao was a scout for the Gunners for almost 25 years, but was let go when the club downsized its scouting department after COVID-19.
Rather than holding a grudge against Arteta or the club, Gagigao only has good things to say about the young Spanish coach.
"I knew Mikel as a 16 or 17-year-old and have followed his career all the way," he said in an interview with Guillem Balague for his YouTube channel.
"He was always a strong-minded, organised, well-balanced midfielder and I think these are qualities he has taken on into his management career, which is at an early stage, but I think we can already see he is going to bring a lot to the table.
"The experience he had working with Pep Guardiola was absolutely invaluable, he's played in a lot of countries so he's going to have an open mind, but strong convictions and I think he will do exceptionally well as a manager."
