Real Madrid are ready to enter new contract talks with captain Sergio Ramos.
After months of doubts, Marca says Real president Florentino Perez has now approved negotiations with Ramos about a new deal.
However, any hopes of the defender securing a long-term agreement have been dashed.
Florentino is insisting on a rolling 12 month contract be settled with his captain - to be renewed every summer.
