Getafe fullback Marc Cucurella admits he had to leave Barcelona to further his career.
Cucurella has just earned a new call-up to the Spain U21 squad.
He told Radio Marca: "Due to circumstances beyond my control I could not show my football at Barça, but that has helped me to grow with Eibar and Getafe. It was not up to me to continue in Barcelona.
"If one day the opportunity arises, we'll see...
"It is clear that Getafe's style is different from La Masía's. But adapting to (coach Javier) Bordalás' game has made me grow and is positive for me. Having different challenges makes me win.
"We have had some very good years at Getafe, their style of play suits me very well and if last season the break hurt us, this year we want to finish well."
