Kota Kinabalu: Residential areas and a shop in Foh Sang are reported to have incurred damage due to the construction of foundation groundworks of the Foh Sang Multi-storey Car Park in the neighbourhood.One of the residents, Pang, claimed the concrete floor of his house had sunk due to the underground erosion caused by construction works of the said multi-storey car park (pic). Pang said his living room and dining room had sunk causing cracks to the walls and ceiling of the house. He feared that if the construction continued, the damage might become more severe.

Gee Tien Siong who is Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) vice president (former Luyang PN candidate) and his team had contacted the Mayor to discuss solutions. The mayor in turn instructed the engineering department and contractor to estimate the loss and to work out a compensation plan on all affected properties. He added that there are two other residential units affected by the construction, another is a two-storey shoplot located just a short distance from the site.

“Fortunately, there has been no casualty to the tenants,” he said.
