Kota Kinabalu: Some 24 firefighters including the Hazardous Material (Hazmat) team conducted public sanitisation at the Sabah Prisons Department at 9.40am on Tuesday.

Zone one Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Department head Hamsa Isnurdini said the sanitation operation was performed at three areas using sodium hypochlorite liquid to disinfect. “Among the areas were the Prison Headquarters, the Women’s Prison as well as Men’s Prison.

“The operation is still ongoing and will be continued until it is completed,” he said, adding that public sanitation operations will also be carried out in the Prison Headquarters.

The Enhanced Movement Control Order (Emco) was enforced at Kepayan Prison on October 21 with a total of 439 cases from the Kepayan Prison Cluster on Oct 26.
