United had a loan offer for Ismaila Sarr rejected by Watford on deadline day, with the Hornets only wanting a straight sale.
They still have time left to sign the Senegal winger.
But the Manchester Evening News says United have no plans to sign any more players this year.
The Red Devils signed four players on deadline day, including Edinson Cavani and Alex Telles.
