Florent Indalecio feels he's going to be offered a contract by Newcastle United.

The 23-year-old former Saint Etienne attacker spent four weeks training at the club's Benton base, and is now awaiting the verdict from the club's hierarchy.

Fraser Park captain Alexis Wenzel remains in regular contact with his former team-mate, and he believes the 23-year-old is confident he impressed during his trial.

Wenzel told ChronicleLive: “It went well. He was calling me every couple of days.

"He was saying he gave 200% so he's got no regrets. He thinks he smashed it actually.

"He believes he did really well, however he knows he's done his job and it's now out of his hands.

"He's confident, he told me now my agent is going to see how it goes. That's why he wants to take his time, he received some other offers in the UK.

"I feel they're going to give him a one-year contract."
